Inside The Areoponic Chamber

For the chamber, I went to my local WalMart and picked up some RubberMaid comtainers. You want to use the darkest solid color avaialable, otherwise, your roots will have a tough time finding darkness. Low light also inhibits slime and mold from growing.

Inside the chamber, I have a 1/2" PVC pipe that runs the length of the container. You will have to cut to fit; cut 1/8" longer then you need. Make sure to have a good plumbing sealant on hand, I used Goop brand sealant. I then drilled 5 holes into the pipe, equidistant from eash other and the sides of the container. I bought sprayers at my local Hydroponics store for about $.50 each, tapped the holes, and screwed in the sprayers.

Drill out a 1/2" hole on either side on the container, about middile to 2/3's to the top, pending size of container. Put in 1/2" rubber grommets on each side where you cut the holes. Insert the pipe you made (Sprayer Side Up) into the container and align it with the holes you just cut, over the grommets.

Now take a 1/2" straight pipe adapter (bought at a local Hydro store) and apply your sealant on one end. Insert that adaptor from the outside of the container into the PVC pipe, ensureing the sealant gets a good hold. Do the same for the other end and let dry overnight.

I cut out the bottom of each container and inserted a drain unit with root guard. Drain each container indivially into the reseviour, else you might overflow the container and you could break your support stands.
